Albatros Modelworks

1/72 B-25 Mitchell

Review by Steve Bamford

Almost 60 years after these planes flew, most people have long since forgotten about them.  The young crews that flew these bombers were up against horrific resistance from enemy fighters and ground fire.  They persevered and became part of the sands of time that make up history.  As modellers, we have a special place in our heart for the historical side of life and Albatros Modelworks deserves credit for bringing these 13 planes back to life for us modellers to capture in miniature detail for ourselves in our display cabinets.  With this new selection of decals, Albatros Modelworks is up to what they are famous for....great nose art.....beautiful nose art.  Included in this decal sheet are markings for 13 different planes of the USAF from B-25C's to B-25J's...from the Pacific War to the Mediterranean theater of operations to India.  Paint schemes range from Jungle Green camo to Desert Sand camo to natural metal.....there's even one plane that flew from Okinawa in 1945.  I've cut profiles of the 13 different nose profiles from the instruction sheets to give you a quick taste of the beauty and variety of this decal sheet.  You can see them directly below.  The thing that strikes me is the sheer variety of nose art as well as the modest variety of paint schemes.  Below that you'll find scans of the instruction sheets that will show complete views of the planes that are included on this decal sheet.  Also below you'll find scans of the 2 decal sheets.  The printing  and colours of the decal sheets is crisp and clear with no flaws.  The amount of decals in this set is absolutely great and includes all the special nose art markings and serial numbers etc to make the 13 planes below.
