--------------------
This newest decal sheet from
Albatros Modelworks features 4 different F-8 Crusaders from 3 different
countries.....United States, France and 2 from the Philippines.
| Plane
#1 is a French Navy
F-8E |
|
| (FN)-P
Crusader. The colour is what really stands out about
this particular jet. The blue used for this French jet
is PRU blue FS 35164 as well as some flat black for the tip of
the vertical stab and the nose cone. This was a special
jet with commemorative markings for Operation Trident 2 and
the markings include a Donald Duck carrying a Trident as well
as the markings for the Foch. This plane also wears a
very well done sharks mouth. |
|
| Plane
#2 is a Philippine Air Force |
|
| F-8H
Crusader. This jet is based at
Basa Air Base, Luzon, 7th TFS "Bulldogs"5th
FW. The paint scheme is overall Light Gray FS 36622 and
features Bulldog artwork on both sides of the
tail. |
|
|
|
|
| Plane
#3 is a Philippine Air Force F-8H Crusader. |
|
| This
jet has a two tone gray paint scheme of Light Gray FS 36622
and Medium gray FS 36231. The camo scheme extends across
the top and bottom of the aircraft and gives a great look to
this jet. This plane does not have any unit insignia. |
| Plane
#4 is a US Navy RF-8A Crusader. |
|
| This
American Crusader is from Nov 1962 and was involved in the
Cuban Missile crisis. The paint scheme is 2 tone gray
and the markings include lots of red stripes with white
Stars. Below the cockpit area in the fuselage is the
artwork of a Knights head and a shield with a Bald Eagle and
sword and well as the Playboy Bunny logo. |

Some of the markings were printed up in the
wrong colours and a small third decal sheet is included to replace the
incorrect markings. Also included is a full sized decal sheet for
stencils and more stencils. As you can see by the instruction sheet
on the lower right.....there are many stencils on Crusaders.
|
|
|
The instructions are clear enough to follow
and should prove no problem. This is an interesting decal sheet with
a variety of unique markings and is highly recommended for all Crusader
fans.
