| Eli Raphael is busy producing more of his decals with sexy nose art. This new decal sheet from Zotz Decals includes markings for two different 1/48 or 1/72 B-24's. The recommended kits for these decals is the 1/1/48 Monogram B-24J or the 1/72 Academy B-24J&M variants. | ||
|
The first aircraft is a baremetal B-24J-160-CO. Serial number 44-40428 with the 5th AF, 43rd BG, 64thBS. This aircraft has an Olive Drab anti-glare panel in front of the windshield and the leading edges of the wings are black. The nose art on this one is "Cocktail Hour" (see image at top of this review). This B-24 has quite large and colourful noseart of a topless lady with long blonde hair and her legs curled around a Martini glass wearing a top hat. The text is "Cocktail Hour" across the lower part of the noseart and features a city scape in the background. On the outside of the tail are red and white horizontal stripes on the rudders....these are supplied as decals and include a diagonal black stripe along the forward part of the tails in front of the rudders. The exact serial number on the tail is 440428. Double check the turret and nose configuration on the 1/48 version with your kit to make sure everything matches.....or you may need to buy a conversion set. |

| The second aircraft is a baremetal B-24M-10-FO. Serial number 44-50768 with the 5th AF, 43rd BG, 403rdBS. This aircraft has an Olive Drab anti-glare panel in front of the windshield and the leading edges of the wings are black. The nose art on this one is "Million $ Baby" and features a blonde lady in a one piece bathing suit and a big blue sun hat (see image at top of this review). | ||
On the outside of the tail is a red rectangle and a red profiles of a wild animal's head and the serial number 1875. On the 1/48 model double check the turret and nose configuration with your kit to make sure everything matches.....or you may need to buy a conversion set. The decals were flawlessly printed and in perfect registration and the clear carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas. There is one complete set of stencil data included. The instructions are clear and include 3 view drawings. A very nice decal sheet and highly recommended for all the USAF bomber fans with a passion for sexy nose art. |
